Troop 869 prides itself on its long tradition of providing
the boys of Scottsdale with a very active Scouting program designed to build character, to develop fitness, to foster citizenship
and to teach outdoor skills in a rewarding, fun-filled, exciting and safe atmosphere.
At
Troop 869, we believe in the core values of Scouting based primarily on the principles of the Scout Oath and the Scout Law.
We build the leaders of tomorrow by emphasizing leadership and character in our programs.
We use the BSA Patrol Method, which focuses on boy leadership and personal responsibility. Our Troop
Program is planned and executed by the Scouts themselves, based upon their interests and the needs of the Troop.
With special emphasis on monthly outings, the dedicated adult leaders of Troop 869 provide an enjoyable
and fun-filled outdoor experience in which they nurture each Scout's development by supporting individuality, self-esteem,
cooperation and community service.
Troop 869's monthly outdoor adventure
program consists of weekend camping and backpacking trips, service projects on behalf of needy individuals and groups, plus
our annual week-long summer camp, just to name a few. (See our Photo Album and Pictorial History
to view some of our exciting adventures from the past!)
Troop
Meetings are held most Monday nights from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm at St. Anthony on the Desert Episcopal Church located at 12990
E. Shea Blvd in Scottsdale.
(Please check our Troop Calendar for exact dates and
